Random thoughts in Mimi's mind because she can't sleep at 12:30AM.

1. David A. Bednar is super underrated. That guys doesn't get enough props, because his talks and books are super good.

2. I'm fairly convinced that with my ultra-pale complexion and eyes, I would look super rocking good with dark brown hair. Observe:
I had never even thought about it until it very spontaneously dawned on me this morning. Now it is a thought that makes me quite happy. (Also, you like how I threw in a Susan Pevensie picture there. You definitely do.)

3. Jadyn, guess what? The lady we visit teach fully converted my mom to essential oils this morning. Even doTerra essential oils (even though she's still in shock at their prices haha)

4. I want to make garlic-y olive oil pasta. RIGHT NOW. Is that socially unacceptable at this hour in the night/morning?

And that ends another episode of Weird Random Thoughts in Mimi's Mind. Join us next time whenever, dude. Goodnight.

My hair has been to war and back again.

So, I'm a long-hair kind of person.
I love all hair in general. But for me, personally, long hair works best. It makes me feel awesome, especially when I am hitting personal-record kind of lengths, and it's super healthy and soft and strong and shiny.

Like, when it was like this:
Siggghhhhhhh, I miss this hair. This uncolored, unbleached, long, healthy hair. Of course, the reason I was taking this photo, was because that very same day, I decided that this would be a grand ol' plan:
Whatevers. It was fine, and it grew back really fast.
But then I started beauty school. All was well, I got a couple highlights, but nothing to seriously alter or damage my hair, until March of my senior year:
This was very fun. I still think I am the raddest person in the world for doing this. But I didn't want it forever. Especially when it started fading, and my roots were peeking out, and I didn't want to look crazy for prom and graduation.
So I let the fools in beauty school do this to my head right before prom:
It went very wrong. See the darker strands? Those look dark blonde in the picture. In reality, they were ORANGE. It was kind of nightmarish. The haircolor. Not prom. Prom was fun.

So, my mom made me fix it at our friend Charity's at-home salon. We were done with beauty school experiments, because this was business, and my hair looked atrocious.
Charity put blonde and ashy brown highlights through my hair to cancel out the red that was left. It worked for the most part, but there were still a few stubborn red streaks in the back of my head, and now with the ash had come somewhat greenish streaks, and brown streaks, and blonde streaks.  My hair was a crazy mess. And my mom threatened me with very scary eyes that if I did any more coloring with my hair, she would shave it off in the night.
So I left it alone, and a bunch of the ashy brown stuff faded away, and I was left with hair that was still pretty light.
Also, due to all the bleaching I had done to my hair in the past few months, I had to get it trimmed a lot more often because the ends got damaged faster. Once during the summer, 4 inches were cut off of my hair because of all the dead, dry damage.
This picture actually makes it look a tad bit lighter than it really was.
But anyway, I had regrowth coming in. and it was a bit darker than the rest of my hair. I wanted to color my hair to that regrowth color, since it was my natural, and mark that the end my haircoloring phase once and for all. Plus, coloring is not very damaging to your hair, especially compared to bleaching. So I deemed it safe.
Safe it was.
Natural it wasn't.
I went to a small, local salon and asked her to match everything to my roots. She said, "Oh, easy!" And then I was like, "Oh, also, a trim please, my ends are dead and damaged and gross again."
So she cut off a ton of my hair and made me chestnut brown.

I don't really know how you can interpret my instructions this badly.
I'm sorry. But really? :( And I even had to convince her not to go darker, because she thought that what she put in my hair would fade out in a week and that I would come back crying to her to do it again. Good thing I didn't let her make me have dark dark brown hair. Goodness. AND. See that purple arrow in my picture?? That's the end of my hair. My hair was just about to touch my waist before she chopped it all off.

I knew I should have been watching those scissors instead of hiding my face behind The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe... Curses.

So now, I am so tired of haircolor. I am so tired of bleach. I am so sorry to my poor poor hair that has taken all the crap I did to it. I don't care how hideous my roots come out, I AM NOT TOUCHING MY HAIR ANYMORE. I will get it trimmed every 6-8 weeks. I am taking Biotin supplements every day, which is a vitamin that strengthens and speeds the growth of your hair. I have been using hair-strengthening shampoo and conditioner, I have not been blow-drying my hair before I go to bed, and I have been using heat protectant when I curl my hair. My poor hair is now being pampered to death until it is the shiniest, strongest, longest, dark blonde (NOT chestnut brown... SHOOT!) hair anyone has ever seen.

So there, beauty school. You ruined my hair. How ironic, isn't it?

Oh, P.S. I learned how to make GIFs on my phone. Like seriously. Does life get better?
Here is my dog, Choxie singing to me. NBD.

Sorry I ranted about my hair. Nobody cares about my hair status. The end.

French braids and math class and dandelions, oh my.

Today, I woke up and got ready for school.
As some of you may know, I'm kind of obsessed with hair.
I love to play with it. I haven't worn my hair the same way twice to school at all this year.
Which isn't that impressive considering I only go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
But I could do it differently every schoolday for the rest of the semester... I'd be willing to bet the rest of the year if I wanted to.
Easily, actually.
I have a few hairdos up my sleeve.
Especially now that I am beginning to master the art of French braiding my own hair.
Here is what I did to my hair today, and I daresay I am quite proud of it.
It's a French braid going from my bangs to my crown, and then a high sock bun. And I gotta say, those sock buns are little buggers, because it is quite a challenge to get those things to stay hiding inside my bun. It's embarrassing. Like, "Oh, hey, your bra strap is hanging out" embarrassing.
But I had it tamed all day today. Hooray for me.

I was a little peeved, however, because in my public speaking class, my presentation group told the teacher last Thursday, while I was gone, that I would provide an outline for our presentation. And when I walked into class today, she wanted it now.
I was like, "Hey, thanks you guys. Feelin' the brotherly love."
Lucky for their sorry hides, I had by chance taken notes on everything we were doing for our presentation, and those notes were acceptable unto our teacher. They are so lucky I'm a good student.
Kind of.
Observe me ditching part of math class because I couldn't stand to hear any more words like "algorithm" and "vertical asymptote".
It's okay. Only one more semester, and then I don't have to take math ever again.

Then I raced out of math and ran to my precious truck, Florence. "We're going home, Florence!" I would have exclaimed if it weren't for the nutcases in the parking lot who would have given me strange looks.

I drove down the road, well on my way home. Then when I passed the Gilbert temple, I was like,
Ah nuts. I had forgotten that I needed to take my fingerprint clearance card to student services so that they could make a copy of it so that I could get my service learning hours done for my education class.

I couldn't do it the next day. I had to turn around and go back to the school.
Yuck.
But it was all okay, because look what I found when I went back to the school?
A dandelion! These are only my favorite things!
Needless to say, I made a wish.
I can't tell you what it is though. Duh.

Then I went home, and my home teacher came with his lovely wife and we talked about Dallin H. Oaks's talk from the April conference when he said,
"Yet some erroneous people think that these marvelous physical attributes happened by chance or resulted from a big bang somewhere. Ask yourself, could an explosion in a printing shop produce a dictionary? The likehood is most remote. But if so, it could never heal its own torn pages or reproduce it's own newer editions."

I absolutely love this quote. Our physical bodies are marvelous! How can it be that they are not divinely created, heaven sent? There's no denying it that they are God-given gifts.

Goodnight, my happy little friends!
(Oh yeah. Last night I bought a lovely bright red lipstick, and I cannot keep myself away from it. It's hard enough not letting myself wear it to school. How can I resist it's brightness?)

Fall fashion inspiration.

The Arizona sun has taken mercy at last!
It is lovely outside today.

Here are some fashion pieces I love for this glorious season!

Let's just take a moment to adore everything about this pictures. Her hair, her cardigan, her scarf, her SHOES...

I take full advantage of ugly sweater season. Some people know how I feel about sweaters. I'm a bit obsessed.

I guess this isn't really fashion, but Bath and Body Works has excellent fall scents this year. I bought three of their mini body splashes (it was a 3 for $10 sale!), one in Dreamy Vanilla Woods, one in Honey Autumn Apple, and one in Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, and they are all really yummy. My personal favorite is Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.

Comfy cozy flannel button ups, skinny jeans, and riding boots. There's no way I can afford riding boots though hahahaha.

LOVE chambray shirts. I recently bought myself one (no polka-dots, though), and I have to tell myself that I can't wear it every single week. Or more.

This mauve color is perfect for fall, as is the gold sequined collar. LOVE.

I love champagne-y gold tones for nails. And they are very fall-ish. This one looks like it is from the brand Butter London, but I got one this summer from China Glaze called "Swing Baby" that is quite like this one and probably a bit less expensive.

Setting aside the fact that mustard yellow is pretty much my favorite color in existence, this jacket looks so cozy and wonderful...
No but seriously, I think I'm gonna go find a mustard yellow nail polish some time very very soon. It kind of feels like a need.

Blazers, anyone?? :D

I love neutral colors. They're so calming. I've gotta be honest, I probably wouldn't put cowboy boots with this particular outfit, thought. It kind of clashes with the sleekness of the clutch, but that's just me.

These are my kind of fall shoes. I might be in love.

Fall is the time to get away with burgundy nails. Some people might say, "Why would you want to get away with burgundy nails??" But I personally, love them.

Toppppp knoooooootss!!! They are the best.

Berry lip colors are to die for, and they are quite exclusive to fall. They make me want to eat a bowl of cherries.

Let's all just embrace crazy scarves. They rock.

And last but not least,

It's cozy hat time.

You might have been able to tell, I'm a bit of an autumn freak. I love it. Eeep!
